Professional Geek.

That’s what I wanted to be when I was a kid. That, or a fireman. For many years, neither dream was to be realized; I labored in the corporate world of commercial insurance. I decided, though, that you’re never too young or crazy to follow a dream, even one you had when you were 11 years old and meeting Andre Norton for the first time. I seized my opportunity, took a deep breath and jumped over the edge...and now offer my services as an online, virtual assistant and social sites manager to media geeks. I'm also back in school, pursuing a Graphic Design Degree. I combine my knowledge of geeky worlds and fandom, with the management, research, writing and people skills I acquired when working the corporate world for almost two decades. I offer month to month, ongoing services and a la carte project services to my clients. Contact me at GeekGyrlFriday@gmail.com to discuss what I can do for you, to make your corner of Geekdom better, and help you share your geeky goodness with the rest of the world.

Frabjous Findings

If you're curious about what a chipper, geeky, goth gyrl might be attracted to, check out these links - they showoff some of the most commonly used tags that I tumble. So, as Culture Club says, I'll tumble for ya!

Dead Gentlemen

Seriously Kewl Geeks making movies FOR Geeks

Check out their first two full length flicks, all about the highs and lows (and I’m not even talking about critical fail dice rolls, here) of gaming. You can even see Dorkness Rising, their second movie, on Netflix instant watch feed. If you have an XBox, PS3 or Wii, you can feed it right to your telly, too. (Don’t know what I’m talking about? Let me translate: XBox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii are all video game consoles that can do so much more for you, now. I’m a PS3 gyrl, myself.)

Geek Speak Blog

Geek Speak Blog (affectionately known as “GSB”) is a fab fan site for media geeks. right now, the two main contributors are doing everything (yes, I mean the kit AND the kaboodle) on a volunteer basis, hence the slightly sporadic posting schedule. But…the posts are great fun, informative and try to get the good geeky stuff to the geeks on the street. Oh…and…did I mention I’m one of those two volunteer contributors? ;)

Creepy Doll - song by Jonathan Coulton, video by Spiffworld using World of Warcfaft Machinima rendered characters (Alliance, mores the pity, but it’s still a great video)

Loved this song the first time I heard it - adding WoWimagery just made it even more geektastic.

Oooh, goblins…..LOL…so, how many folks are going to be crossing allegiance lines, to make goblins AND worgen, when Cataclysm hits?
